Welcome to our warm and nurturing environment
Discover the heart of who we are. A family-owned daycare with a 2:1 child to caregiver ratio.
Let's make your little ones feel truly at home.
What makes us different
As a small family daycare, our goal is to make you and your little one feel at home and in a familiar space. We have the luxury of having maximum 5 children at once which gives us the opportunity to get to know all of our families very well and for them to get to know us.
Clear and open communication: Via text, emails and printed out monthly schedules. Our doors are always open and we are always just a phone call away!
Less children + bigger space = Less getting sick! Lets face it, a dreaded fact about starting daycare is how sick our kiddos get, which means spending countless nights with little sleep and often the whole family getting sick too! One of our outstanding benefits is that we are proud to be a very clean open space which can mean less chances of getting sick.
Flexible schedules! We understand that you might need to drop off your child a bit earlier to enable you to get to work on time. There might be days when you need to stay a bit later at work and need later pickups. As an at home daycare we often have the availability to adapt to your needs.
About us
Susana Blackburn
I’m Susana Blackburn, or as my new nickname goes “ Ellie’s mom”. I am the eldest of five and started babysitting for my siblings and neighbours when I was 10 years old in Alberta. My post-secondary studies started in early childhood education however due to life changes I was not able to continue and ended up with a very different career but I still believe I’m a teacher at heart.
My daughter Ellie is over a year and a half and this experience as a mom has changed my life in more ways than I would have ever imagined. I used to own a hair salon in downtown Toronto and I closed it so I could devote my time to heal postpartum and to raise my daughter. During this stage I discovered the Montessori method of education and really connected with it. So much so, that I have converted part of my home to a beautiful private daycare and I’m currently enrolled in the Montessori Young People’s Certification for Caregivers Program.
My goal is to always be there for the kids and their families. At the same time I’m enjoying my own little family and meeting new parents in the neighbourhood. A sense of community is very important to us, as this will be the place we plan to spend many years to come and watch our children grow.
